THC-P: The Newest Cannabinoid to Hit the Scene

What is THC-P?

There are approximately 150 types of naturally occurring cannabinoids in cannabis. THC and CBD are two of the most well-known cannabinoids, first discovered many decades ago. The most sought-after cannabinoid in the cannabis industry has been slowly shifting towards Delta 8 THC.

Interestingly, many other cannabinoids are being discovered left and right, out of which the one that is receiving the newest attention was THC-P or D9-tetrahydrocannabipherol. It is believed to be more potent than THC and more intoxicating than THC. Although the studies done based on this compound, this is a great discovery for the potential benefits for both medicinal and recreational marijuana users.

The discovery and use of THC-P

The scientific reports that were first published about THC-P, were conducted by an Italian team of researchers. Advanced techniques like liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and mass spectrometry were applied to a national cannabis sample, in order to analyze the plant matter. This cannabinoid was accidentally discovered and is being proved to be one the most promising synthetic cannabinoids.

It was tested first with CB1 and CB2 receptors, in an in vitro environment, showing a 33fold affinity for CB1 receptors (cannabinoid receptors). These receptors also have binding pockets for THC. It is quite different from the endocannabinoid systems. The results can be quite different when the endocannabinoid system is acting in-vivo.

THC-P is approximately 30x more potent than THC, according to pharmacological tests. A higher THC binding ability means that THC-P has a stronger psychoactive effect and euphoric impact.

This newly introduced cannabinoid’s binding ability increases with an addition of introduced carbon atoms. It has shown that THC and THC-P work very similarly in lower doses.

THC-P’s effects on the body

THC-P was only recently discovered and we don’t know its exact effects on the human body.

Initial studies however have shown that THC -P has a significant effect upon hypomobility and chronic pain. It also affects the temperature of your rectum. The effects are similar to THC, but more potent.

We cannot yet say if THC–P is safe or recommended for recreational use, however, new hemp-derived cannabinoids have been shown to contain a plethora of benefits and uses.

Side effects of THC/P

Side effects of THC are unknown, just like the benefits.

This cannabinoid is very similar to THC and may have comparable side effects. These are side effects that may be associated with a stronger THC variant.

  • Paranoia
  • Anxiety
  • Self-consciousness
  • Sleepiness
  • Fatigue
  • Alertness
  • Dry mouth
  • Red eyes
  • Temporary memory loss
  • Sickness
  • Vomiting

There is much more needed research on THC- P in order to fully understand the side effects of this very potent cannabinoid. It is advised to be cautious when dosing.

Is THCP legally allowed?

Only one cannabinoid is included on the controlled substance list, and it’s THC. THC-P is federally legal, however, this newly introduced cannabinoid is more powerful and psychoactive than THC, potentially capable of having adverse effects on the body. THC-P must only be extracted from hemp, as it makes it more lawful.

We know will be legalized as soon as it is taken into consideration by the food and drugs administration . It is best to avoid THC-P use on work days if your workplace has strict regulations regarding drug use.

Is THCP synthetic?

Synthetic This was the first THC-P that was ever discovered. It was created in-vitro in a laboratory experiment on cannabis. Many other experiments were conducted to discover the properties of this compound outside of any living organism.

THC -P is also found in natural cannabis products, but it is possible that this compound is only present at certain points in the plant’s life cycle .

There are many THC-P products available

When using THC-P for recreational or medicinal purposes, it is important to acquire your product from a trusted and safe source. Any additives or chemicals can have negative effects on the body and mind.

What is the strength and potency of THC-P products? This is not all. When choosing a THC–P product, keep in mind that it is approximately 30 times stronger than Delta-9 THC. It can increase your tolerance to THC and could cause serious adverse effects.

D8 Gas offers THC-P disposable and THC-P cartridges, as well as the highest quality delta 8, delta 10, and CBD products. These disposables can be used quickly and easily and can be thrown away as soon as they are done. The vapes are quick and provide instant relief from pain and stress.

THC-P, a relatively new compound in the cannabis family, requires more research to understand its chemical structure and its effects on the body. Let’s not use it for medicinal or recreational purposes.

D8 Gas will be showcasing the highly praised THC–P Disposables from Delta Effex.

Delta 8 THC goes by many different names such as D8 THC , D8, and Delta-8. This compound is still considered a novel one by recreational users of cannabis derived products. Although it may sound illegal, delta 8 contains less than 0.3%THC, made from federally legal hemp, and in accordance to the 2018 Farm Bill.
