Cannabinoids are a group of substances that are found in plants. While there are many Cannabinoids, today we will focus on (THC), also known as Tetrahydrocannabinol. Unfortunately, since there hasn’t been much talk about this substance, only one type of THC was consumed by the public worldwide, i.e., Delta 9 THC

For those new to the world of THC and have no idea about available products in the market, don’t worry; we have you covered. Thankfully, now we know that there exist many types of THC, amongst which we will talk about 3, THC-O, THC-B, and THC-H. Read this article to know what’s best for you and which provides the best value!

What is THC-O?

THC-O, also known as THC-O acetate, is an ester of THC. It is a synthetic form of Tetrahydrocannabinol and can only be developed in a laboratory. It is made using high-proof alcohol or acetone solvents where the hemp plant molecules are liquified and extracted later.

THC-O is relatively new, and only a handful of firms produce it. It has the same base structure as Delta-8 THC and Delta-9 THC, the only difference being its involvement with acetate.

What is THC-B?

Tetrahydrocannabinol, known as THC-B, is one of the most abundantly found cannabinoids in hemp plants and is responsible for most hemp psychoactivity. THC-B primarily acts on CB1 and CB2 receptors in the brain. An Italian research team discovered THC-B in 2019. It has a similar structure to THC, but instead of a pentyl side chain, it has a butyl one.

The product is unique because, unlike THC, THC-B has a higher binding affinity with CB1 receptors, which means its effects are longer lasting. Moreover, it is more readily available and widely consumed than the average Delta 9 THC because it is lawful and legal in 38 states in the USA and carries higher benefits.

What is THC-H?

Tetrahydrocannabihexol, more commonly known as THC-H, was discovered by an Italian team of researchers in 2020. It can be found in the hemp plant in small concentrations and is produced artificially.

It is a more potent compound than Delta 8 THC and 9 THC. It is indeed true that THC is pretty rare and scarce. This is because it is a relatively newly discovered compound. THC-H is held as a strong product for experiencing euphoria and other effects.

THC-O vs. THC-B vs. THC-H: What are the Differences

While all of these three compounds are controlled analogs of the same primary group, THC, they differ in many ways. Here are some distinct differences between the three subgroups.

Natural or Synthetic

First, let’s compare THCH and THCO in this regard. THC-H is a naturally occurring cannabinoid. Moreover, it can also be produced synthetically as well. However, when it comes to the latter, THC-O cannot be produced naturally.

It is entirely synthetic, and you have no other option to produce it other than creating it in a lab. When we talk about the third compound in our comparison, THC-B is somewhat like THC-H. It is also naturally occurring and can be found in hemp plants.

Strength

When we look at how effectively these compounds affect a human, THC-O is found to be 2-3 times more powerful and robust compared to delta-9 THC. It will be more comparable to look at THC-B and THC-H, which are both far more potent. TCH-H is 25 times stronger than regular THC, whereas THC-B poses a greater power being around 30x more powerful than regular Delta-9.

Side Effects

Everything has negative implications if consumed too much. Whether it be THCB, THCO, and THCH, the same case implies here as well. TCHB is psychoactive, and if a lot of amounts are consumed, you might feel dizziness, dry mouth, or lethargy. With THCH, the consumer might feel anxiety, sleepiness, or even a headache.

How Do They Work?

Now we look at how these compounds actually impact our bodies. THC-H binds strongly to the CB1 receptors of the brain. This receptor absorbs the substance and lets the brain feel its effects, which are then felt throughout the body.

Just like THCH, THCB also binds with the CB1 receptors, but along with that, it also binds with the CB2 receptors of the brain. This is why THC-B is found to be more potent than THC, even though it carries just four atoms.

Similarly, THCO acts with the CB1 receptors, but due to it carrying acetate, this compound is more bioavailable. This means that the body can absorb THC-O more effectively and efficiently, making it way more potent than other cannabinoids. With THC-O, you feel an instant, quicker kick, and high.

How to Consume Them?

All of these substances are available to be consumed in a variety of ways. Some of them are listed below.

Tinctures

These are basically hemp oils. They are quick and convenient. Whether it is THCH, THCO, or THCB, put a few drops in your mouth, and you are good to go. They take about an hour to show their results.

Disposable Vapes

There is a wide variety of options available for THC-B, THC-O, and THC-H. They are similar to currently available non-cannabis-based vapes. You fill up the tank with your favorite cannabinoid product, charge the device, and smoke it. They go through your lungs and take a very short time which is around 10 minutes, to act up.

Gummies

THC-H, THC-O, and THC-B gummies are all taken orally. They pass through the digestive system and take about 40-60 minutes to show their effects.

Conclusion

THC-B, THC-O, and THC-H are all relatively recently discovered and are still catching up with the market. People are beginning to know about them, their impacts, benefits, and legality.

Don’t forget to do thorough research on them before consuming them. Do not consume irresponsibly or in large, uncontrolled quantities. Also, make sure to purchase them from an authentic company or vendor.
