Furthermore, it is seen that eating cannabis through edibles can have a stronger effect. Unfortunately, making edibles at home is a little more complicated than playing with flour and sugar in a bowl. But there is nothing that you can’t master with practice. Here we will discuss some easy techniques and ingredients to make your edibles at home.  So, let’s get to it.

How to Make Edibles?

Making edibles is not very complicated; there are some simple recipes that will work to your liking on how you want to consume the edibles. You can make cannabis gummies, alcohol, brownies, salads, lollipops, and many other things. Let’s look at the entire process and different recipes you can cook to make edibles.

Before jumping into any recipe, the main thing you need to do is decarboxylate the cannabis. This means converting the THCA to THC. This process occurs automatically when you smoke or vape cannabis, but when cooking, you need to activate the THC in cannabis. Following are the steps that you need to take.

Step 1:

First, you need to preheat your oven to 100°C and ensure the temperature does not exceed 105°C. Higher temperatures can evaporate all the cannabis leaving nothing for you.

Step 2:

Grind your cannabis into a fine powder. Then place parchment paper on a baking sheet and spread over the paper. Make sure you put a thin layer so cannabis can get decarboxylate properly.

Step 3:

Keep your baking tray in the oven for 20 min. 20 min is enough if you have 5 grams of cannabis. But the time can vary if you have more amount of cannabis. As soon as the color of the cannabis changes to light brown, this indicates that you need to take out your cannabis.

Now let it cool down for a little bit. After it’s cooled down, it is ready to be used in any kind of food or recipe that you want.

Cannabis Tinctures:

Cannabis tinctures are a type of cannabis extract. This can be used in salad, gummies, and other food items and can also be taken as it is. Since it is so versatile, it is also said to be one of the best ways to consume cannabis for medical purposes.

You need to follow the steps to make this resourceful cannabis tincture.

  1. After decarboxylating, the cannabis was put in a heat-resistant container and poured about 1 ¼ cup of alcohol. Here you can also add rum or vodka according to your liking.
  2. Now you need to boil water in a cooking pot. Once the water starts boiling, put the glass container in it. Make sure that the water covers about half of the container.
  3. Let the cannabis and alcohol boil, keeping the temperature between 75-80°C. The entire process can take about 20 min.
  4. Once most of the alcohol is evaporated, you need to strain the remaining liquid using a tea strainer.
  5. Repeat this process using the strained cannabis while adding more alcohol. This ensures that you are extracting everything present in cannabis.
  6. Again strain the cannabis after the alcohol is evaporated. Now the liquid that you have is the cannabis tincture. You can drink it as an extract or add it to different food items.

Cannabis Brownies:

Cannabis or edible brownies are just like your regular brownies and even taste just like them. If you want to make cannabis brownies, you must have canna oil. Following are the steps that you can follow to make the canna oil and also brownies.

  1. The first step is to decarboxylate your cannabis.
  2. After decarboxylating, you need to place cannabis in a pot with coconut or olive oil.
  3. Let it simmer for about 10 to 20 min while maintaining 85°C. You need to keep an eye on the cannabis because when the oil starts turning green, that is your sign to turn off the gas.
  4. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool for about 30 min. Strain the oil and then start preparing the brownies.
  5. While starting the preparation, you need to preheat the oven to 180°C.
  6. Add your eggs, sugar, vanilla essence, and cannabis oil, and beat it well.
  7. Add dry ingredients like flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt, and mix everything.
  8. Then add your brownie mixture to the oven for 20 min. Once the time is over, you have your yummy brownie edibles ready.

Cannabis Gummies:

If you know of cannabis edibles, you might have heard the name edible gummies or weed gummies. Cannabis gummies are a good choice when ingesting cannabis because they offer microdose.

  1. Follow the recipe given below to make these fun and yummy edible gummies.
  2. First, you will need to make the Jell-O, and for that, you need a mixture of flavored and unflavored gelatin.
  3. Add water to the gelatin, boil it and then leave it to cool down.
  4. Once the mixture is cooled, you can add the cannabis tincture to the gelatin.
  5. Spray the gummies mold with cooking spray and add your gelatin mixture.
  6. Then put the molds in the fridge and let them freeze, and voila, your edible gummies are done.
